Blur Is Not Secure Redaction: Image Privacy Basics
Use flattened opaque redaction when the goal is to conceal sensitive information in shared images.
Method
Pixelation, blur and transparent masks can still reveal patterns or retain original data in layered assets. Export a flattened raster with the hidden region overwritten, and inspect hidden metadata, preview thumbnails, and source files.
Verification and limitations
Keep originals privately. Face/plate detection is assistance only and should never substitute a human check.
